The EP45-DS4 supports all series of Intel LGA775 processors with up to FSB 1600. It is based on the Intel P45 and ICH 10R. Iinstead of the more expensive DDR3 and runs with DDR2 modules supporting up to DDR2-1200 with a max. of 16GB. The board comes with 2 PCIe full length slots which support either a PCIe x16 or Dual PCIe x8 for CrossFire. There is a third PCIe full length slot runs at PCIe x4 from the ICH 10R south bridge. There is also 6 SATA II and 1 IDE supported by the ICH 10R The ports can run in RADI 0,1,5,10. There are also 12 USB, Gbe, 1394, HD audio, Dual bios plus supported on this board. CrossFire is supported. Other important features is the VRD 11.1 which supports multiphase step down feature to conserve power when system is on idle or on lower processing levels. This is used is in Dynamic Energy Saver. In addition, this board uses silent pipe, solid caps. Other benefits include Easy Tune 6 for easy overclocking within Windows.
