We've got a look at a the Hitachi 7K1000 1TB HDD and have pulled some benchmarks and put this drive up against a mainstream 250GB drive for comparison. Other than four times the size, take a look at what Hitachi has to offer. The biggest question was how much faster will this drive be, and quite frankly I was pretty surprised at some of the numbers that the Hitachi put up in our testing, and were close to the WD Raptor drive we took a look at last year. The Raptor drive was able to stay on top, but not by much.
