When I was talking to the people at MouseGlider, they stated that the MouseGlider was not for everyone. After using two different Gliders on different mice for well over a week solid, I'd have to say that I agree with them. It reduces friction on the mousing surface by making your hand glide with your mouse, but it does take a bit to get used to. With the standard version, you have to concentrate on keeping the mouse centered in the neoprene hole, and if the mouse rides up on the edge you lose sensitivity from the sensor and the mouse hangs up and doesn't move easily at all. The Deluxe version makes this easier with the Teflon base that the mouse sits on. It is much easier to use and doesn't require as much centering. If I could recommend a MouseGlider to anyone, it would definitely be a deluxe model.
